The Newbery Club was honored to experience Nan Marino’s very first Skype interview. The author of Neil Armstrong Is My Uncle and Other Lies Muscle Man McGinty Told Me was thrilled to meet our club members and their parents face-to-face (via internet hook up. Ms. Marino, who is also a librarian, told us how she became a writer and where she got the idea for her novel. Through the many thoughtful questions posed by the club members we learned many interesting things about the author, such as Ms. Marino names all her characters after people she knows.
