"Speaking of Writing" Program (fall) - Every year an author of popular young adult books is invited to speak at the Library. Kerr, Bruce Brooks, Donna Jo Napoli, Richard Peck, Chris Crutcher, Joan Bauer, Jim Arnosky, Jerry Spinelli, Gordon Korman, and Todd Strasser discuss their writing.
Book Discussion Groups (year-round) - Literature discussions are held throughout the year for children, teens, and their parents. Participants receive a copy of the book to keep.
Design a Bookmark Contest (January) - Children submit entries, and twelve are selected each January during this annual event. One winning design is published each month in the Library newsletter, and the bookmarks are available in the Children's Room.
