Access for Persons with Disabilities
The Library seeks to promote and improve awareness, availability, and accessibility of information for people with disabilities.
Both Library buildings are accessible to people with disabilities. Visually-enhanced computer equipment and assistive listening devices are available.
Please ask a Librarian about other special equipment, or let us know in advance if you require any special accommodations to participate in Library programs and activities.
Assistive Technology and Materials
Find information on the technology and materials available in the library for use.
Automatic Doors and Ramps
The front entrances to both Library buildings are equipped with ramps and automatic doors.
Elevators
Elevators are located near the front entrance in both Library buildings.
Homeward Bound
Are you, or is someone you know, unable to visit the library because of a temporary or permanent medical condition? Our Homeward Bound program is available to all Library district patrons who are unable to come to the library. You may tell us what materials you want, or have our Outreach Librarians choose materials based on your interests.
Whatever you enjoy, we will see that your library materials are homeward bound to you. Materials are delivered and picked up by a library courier.
This is a free and confidential service. To find out if you are eligible for the Homeward Bound Program and (to receive an application) please contact Nancy Morcerf, Branch Librarian, or Denise Campbell, Outreach Librarian, at the East Northport Library (261-2313) or send in a completed application.
Parking
The public parking lots at both Library buildings have designated parking spots for persons with disabilities.
