Children Between Worlds : An Exhibit from the International Youth Library of Munich
Books can serve as bridges in a world that is often divided by economics, culture, politics, and religion. The Northport-East Northport Public Library’s Museum Cove is proud to present “Children Between Worlds,” an international children’s book exhibit designed to promote the themes of peace and tolerance. This collection features books with common themes that foster understanding for other cultures and encourage a dialogue between peoples. Books chosen for this exhibit represent literature from dozens of cultures, and are in their original languages. Books from a separate exhibit, “Hello, Dear Enemy,” will also be available for examination. Both exhibits were prepared by the International Youth Library in Munich, Germany. The traveling exhibit will be displayed at twelve sites throughout the United States. We invite you to experience this timely exhibit in the Northport Library’s Museum Cove during the month of January.
