June 10th Registration
 
 
 

Registration for the following programs begins Saturday, June 10 at the NORTHPORT  PUBLIC LIBRARY.  Limit of one program per child on the first day of each registration.  Your library card is required at registration.

Little Music Makers
Children birth-3 years with adult; siblings welcome
(EN) Tuesday, June 20, 10:00 a.m.
Educator Sue Caccavale provides a unique program with a variety of instruments, puppets, costumes, and movement games, all in a musical setting.  (45 min.)

Family Bingo
Children entering grades K-5; adults and siblings welcome
(N) Wednesday, June 21, 2:00 p.m.
Play a picture version of the familiar game of Bingo.  The lucky winners will receive library “treasures.” (60 min.)

A Little Knight Music
Children ages 1-3 with adult; no siblings
(EN) Thursday, June 22, 10:00 a.m.
Kids will have fun dancing to the music of professional singer Lee Knight, while parents learn how to use music at home to encourage language development. (45 min.)

Family Treasure Chest
Children ages 4-10, with adult and siblings
(N)  Thursday, June 22, 2:00 p.m.
Create your own 11” x 18” treasure chest as a cooperative family project. (60 min.)

Pajama Storytime
Children ages 3 and up with adult
(N) Friday, June 23, 7:00 p.m.
Children may wear their PJs and bring their teddy bears to listen to some great stories. No registration required. (30 min.)

The Lovesick Cat
Children ages 3 and up; adults and siblings welcome
(N)  Monday, June 26, 10:00 a.m.
C2 Productions presents a stage play based on one of Aesop’s fables which teaches children the importance of being happy with who you are. (45 min.)

Book Babies
Pre-walkers with adult; no siblings
(N) Tuesday, June 27, 10:00 a.m.
Enjoy fingerplays, nursery rhymes, and board books with your little one. (30 min.)

Breaking the Braille Code
Children entering grades K-2
(EN) Tuesday, June 27, 2:00 p.m.

Children entering grades 3-6
(EN) Tuesday, June 27, 3:30 p.m.
Children will type their name on a Braillewriter, have fun playing the Braille Mystery Word game while author Rita Whitman Steingold teaches them about mobility skills, adaptive aids, and services available for visually impaired people. (60 min)

Book Buddies
Children ages 4-6
(N)  Wednesday, June 28, 10:30 a.m.
Teen volunteers will read specially selected books to your child one-on-one or in small groups. (30 min)

King Bear
Children entering grades K-3
(N)  Thursday, June 29, 10:00 a.m.
Patty Germain from Noah’s Ark Animal Workshop will help kids create their own stuffed, cuddly bear with a crown fit for a king. (60 min.)

Contract Bridge for Kids
Children entering grades 4-6
(EN) Thursdays June 29, July 6, 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10, 17, 7:00 p.m.
The American Contract Bridge League will teach the sophisticated card game that helps develop math skills, good etiquette, and the art of compromise.  Players completing the eight-week program will receive an instruction book, deck of cards, and T-shirt. (90 min.)

Fairy Tale Tunes
Children birth-5 years with adult; siblings welcome
(N) Friday, June 30, 10:00 a.m.
Music educator Dara Linthwaite sings about characters from your favorite fairy tales.   (45 min.)

The Great Outdoors
Children entering grades 3-6
(EN) Friday, June 30, 2:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m.
Kids will design and print their own nature scene inspired by picture book illustrations.  (60 min.)

Children (preschool through grade 6) may join the reading clubs throughout the summer at either the East Northport or Northport Library. During the first week, (June 19-24) children may share one book they have read. Throughout the summer, children may share books they have read and receive stickers and prizes. Please pick up a schedule of all the summer programs.
