Listed in the Smithsonian Institution's Inventory of American Sculpture, this untitled sculpture is located on the grounds of the Northport Public Library. It was created by Northport resident Scott C. Anderson and donated to the Library in 1971.

Bustof Abraham LincolnBust of Abraham Lincoln The bust of Abraham Lincoln, located behind the Reference Desk at the Northport Library, was sculpted and donated to the Library by Northport resident Peter Tomlinson.

Carousel HorseCarousel Horse

This wooden model of a carousel horse was built by local tradesman Konrad Englert, painted by Stephen Ingram and decorated by Children’s Librarian Susan Holden and was created to represent the Coney Island experience for the Museum Cove exhibit in 2007.

Discovery Center Imagination Center

This Playscape Puppet Theater featuring an undersea theme was donated in memory of Marian S. Adikes by her family in 1998. The Friendship Seating Collection selected to compliment the Imagination Center was donated in memory of Edna Tribley by her family in 1998.

he's like me sculpture"He's Like Me" Northport artist David Jackier sculpted this terra cotta piece for the Children's Room of the Northport Library. The sculpture was donated in 1999 as "A gift to the children of the Northport-East Northport Public Library in loving memory of Fred D. DeGeorge".

The Library BearThe Library Bear The Library Bear, a 12-foot tall depiction of a bear family atop a stack of books, greets patrons at the entrance to the East Northport Library. The Library Bear was sculpted in 1997 by Frank and Donna Bono of Tree Art Gallery and donated to the Library as a gift to the community.

lithographsLithographs: Beckett, Whitman & Joyce Three limited edition lithographs of Samuel Beckett, Walt Whitman, and James Joyce by artist Jack Coughlin adorn the wall in the Northport Library Café. The lithographs were a gift to the library from Michael L. Glennon.

The Little Jenny Bugeye Coming Home to Solomons"The Little Jenny Bugeye Coming Home to Solomons" a limited edition lithograph by John Poague MacLeod hangs above the fireplace in the Northport Library. The lithograph was a gift to Library from the Ruth and Alex McKay.

The little Prince StatueThe Little Prince Statue, unveiled September 16, 2006 in the courtyard of the Northport Public Library, commemorates the internationally loved classic by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Born in 1900, French aviator and author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry lived in the Bevin House on Northport’s Eaton’s Neck during 1942.

The Millennium BookballThe Millennium Bookball In the spring of 1999, the Library Trustees commissioned Northport sculptor George W. Hart to create The Millennium Bookball. This complex spherical arrangement of 60 interlocking books is suspended from the ceiling of the Main Reading Room of the Northport Library. Each book is engraved with the title and author of one of the "Best Books of the Century" as selected by community members. This unique and beautiful work of art was funded, in part, through the generous donation of community residents whose names are engraved on a plaque in Northport's Main Reading Room. Northport Harbor Mural Northport Harbor Mural An historic sense of Northport is conveyed to Northport Library visitors through the mural of Northport Harbor circa 1910 which is displayed opposite the Circulation Desk. This was the same decade the original Andrew Carnegie library building was erected on Main Street.

Mercedes“Old 16”
This wooden model of “Old 16,” the 1906 Mercedes that won the Vanderbilt Cup Race in 1908 was hand crafted for “The Age of the Automobile” exhibit in the Museum Cove, Spring 2000.

Q & A"Q & A" A terra cotta sculpture that is located behind the Reference Desk at the Northport Library was donated to the Library in 1999 by its artist, Northport resident David Jackier.

Reading to Theodore Reading to Theodore A limited edition lithograph by Sandra Kuck hangs in the main lobby of the East Northport library. It was donated by the family and friends of Mary Smith, dedicated staff member 1991-2001.

She's Like Me"She's Like Me" The companion piece to "He's Like Me" was purchased by the Library. Both pieces are located in the Northport Children's Room.

Solar Eclipse Photograph Northport photographer Richard Blazej donated his black and white photograph of the partial solar eclipse of December 25, 2000 to the library. It is displayed in the Main Reading Room of the Northport Library.

The Tile Mural of Old East Northport The Tile Mural of Old East Northport Celebrating the agrarian history of East Northport, The Tile Mural of Old East Northport graces the Main Reading Room in the East Northport Library. The mural was created by East Northport tile artist Esther Tollen and funded by community members whose names are printed on tiles adjacent to the mural.

Ed Hall The TowersThe Towers In September, 2002, the Northport-East Northport Public Library commemorated September 11, 2001 through a community art exhibition entitled Reflection & Remembrance. Northport artist Ed Hall painted "The Towers" to be part of the Reflection & Remembrance exhibit. Following the exhibit, Mr. Hall donated the work to the Library for its permanent collection. "The Towers" hangs on the wall outside of the Northport Library's Community Room.
