Each October Kerouac's hometown of Lowell, Massachusetts hosts Kerouac enthusiasts from around the world for a weekend of poetry, performance, art, and symposia. Leading Kerouac and Beat literature scholars are in attendance.

Northport's annual Kerouac event is held in August at Gunther's Tap Room, a favorite Kerouac hangout. To the enjoyment of all present, tributes from local poets and musicians keep Kerouac's legacy alive in the community.
