The Library's Career Center is designed to assist patrons in preparing for a career and obtaining a job. Literature and audio-visual materials are available to enhance one's search. A comprehensive collection of college selection and financial aid resources will assist those preparing for higher education. JobLine features extensive career resources and is an excellent site for Long Island jobs and information.
The user-friendly Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is your avenue to the Library's collections of books, magazines, videos, audiobooks, and DVDs. Librarians are always available to help you search the Library catalog.
The Library's Health Center contains reference and circulating materials including overviews of medical conditions and diseases, guides to prescription and non-prescription medications and supplements, directories of physicians and hospitals, descriptions of surgical procedures and tests, nutrition and diet information, exercise and fitness manuals, holistic and alternative health, encyclopedias and dictionaries of anatomy and medical terms, magazines and newsletters, and more.
If you cannot find the particular book or item you need within our library, the Adult, Teen or Children's Reference librarians will try to borrow it for you from another library. You will get a telephone call when the item arrives at the Northport-East Northport Public Library Circulation Centers. Most interlibrary loans may be renewed.
