As a precaution to help limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and promote social distancing, the Northport-East Northport Public Library is temporarily closed.

All online program registration has been suspended. To help ensure the safety and well-being of our patrons and staff we will be canceling all programs, events, meeting room bookings and community outreach through May 31. We hope to reschedule these programs in the future.

  • The library book drops have been closed.
  • Please keep your items, disregard due dates, and return the items when the Library reopens.
  • To ensure that patrons have continued access to online resources while the library is closed, library cards slated to expire during this period have been renewed through the end of June.

The Annual Library Vote is scheduled for June 9, 2020 and will be conducted exclusively by absentee ballot voting as per the state governor's executive order. The Library Board, recognizing the extreme economic distress that this pandemic is having on our families, friends, neighbors, and community will not be asking residents to support an increase in library taxes this year and therefore will not be holding a budget vote. This year’s vote will be exclusively for the election of one trustee to the Northport-East Northport Public Library Board of Trustees, to a five-year term. The Annual Library Vote will be conducted in conjunction with the Northport-East Northport Union Free School District’s annual Election and Budget Vote.

We know that access to the Library and its resources is crucial to the public. We are following County and State recommendations, protocols and mandates. As we receive more information, we will keep you informed through our website and social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter). We miss you and wish only that you and your families remain safe during this time.
