Teens in Grades 7-12

National Recovery Month is observed annually every September by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to raise awareness about addition treatment and recovery. Purple is the designated color for overdose and recovery awareness. Pick up your purple pinwheel kit at the Northport Teen Center and return your completed project by July 30 to receive one hour of community service credit. The purple pinwheels will be displayed at both library buildings in September in partnership with the Northport-East Northport Community Drug and Alcohol Task Force initiative to turn Northport and East Northport purple for National Recovery Month. Teens may participate in a total of two volunteer opportunities in addition to Purple Pinwheels.
